Beltangady, Jul 29: Well-known Konkani writer Valli Vogga celebrated his 60th birth anniversary on Sunday July 29 in Madantyar church hall.
The celebration began with a solemn Eucharistic mass in Madanthyar church. Later the felicitation was held in the presence of friends and relatives of Valli Vogga.
Well-known Konkani writer Fr V J Menezes commended the achievements of Valli Vogga as a Konkani writer and hoped many more works of literature would come out in the future. ‘Dongra Voili Vatt’, a collection of Konkani poetry by Valli Vogga was released by Cyprian D’Souza, Valli's younger brother who is an officer with a German IT firm based in Pune.
Michael D’Souza, Mumbai entrepreneur ab Lucy D’Souza retired teacher and aunt of Valli Vogga spoke about Valli.
Valli's wife Libera and son Loy were present on the occasion. Later ‘Maand Sobhan’ team led by Eric Ozario, entertained the audience with Konkani songs, Maando and Dhulpodan.
Avil D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Apoline D’Souza delivered introductory note. Vitori Karkal compered the programme.
