1. Blood donation Camp:
In Athena: Dambel Friends Shediguri Vedike will conduct a free blood donation camp at the Athena Rotary Blood Bank in the city today between 9 am to 11 am.
In Mannagudda: Another blood donation camp, infact the third camp will be held at Mannagudda primary school in the city today. The camp is organized by the Mangalore Mannagudda Utsahi Taruna Vrunda in association with Bharke Friends, KMC Blood bank and District Indian Red Cross society which will begin at 9.30 am.

2. Book Fair: Om Books Pvt Ltd will organize a four-day Christian book-fair at Saldanha Providence, Balmatta from August 2 to 5 as per a release here.

Bibles in different languages and versions, children’s bible, books on marriage and family, first communion sets, audio and video compact discs, DVDs will be on display at the fair, added the release.

3. Akhila Bharata Billavara Union: Sushma Janardhan president, Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat will inaugurate “Aati-sonada Gouji” programme at the Narayana Guru College at 10 am today.

4. Resumption of Namma TV: V4 Media, a group of cable television operators in Mangalore has decided to resume telecast of Namma TV programmes from Saturday, July 27. Namma TV is a local cable television channel of Katalysts Productions Pvt Ltd.

This resumption of the channel’s programme was done following an agreement reached between the two parties stated a press release from Suresh Rao Kokkada, director (marketing) of Kaltalysts.
 
5. Health awareness programme: Students of yenepoya Medical College, Derlakatte, organized a health awareness programme at bagambila as follow-up of the health study conducted under the department of community medicine. The students made a presentation in two teams to create awareness about water-borne diseases and cure.

6. Government Aid: Financial aid will be given by the government to food processing industries for technology upgradation, modernization and setting up of units stated a release.

A 26% subsidy on the cost of the plant, machinery and civil works, subject to a maximum of Rs.50 lac will be given, added the release. For details on the aid the contact person is the assistant general manager, Karnataka State Financial Corpn., Somayaji House, Bunts hostel road, Mangalore.
