Tashkent, Oct 13 (IANS): Unseeded Radu Albot of Moldavia and Ricardas Berankis of Lithuania defeated fourth seeds Adil Shamasdin Canada and Divij Sharan of India 6-2, 6-4 to enter the men's doubles quarter-finals of the $125000 Tashkent ATP Challenger here on Tuesday.
In the first round of the singles event, Jan Santral of Czech Republic defeated fifth seeded World No.106 Radu Albot of Moldavia 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 in 1 hour 44 minutes.
Local favourite Denis Istomin edged out Belarusian Uladzimir Ignatik 7-6 (5), 6-4 in 1 hour 25 minutes. Second seeded Lithuanian Ricardas Berankis took just 52 minutes to end the run of German qualifier Kevin Krawietz, winning 6-4, 6-0.
Title holder and third seed here Slovakian Lukas Lacko scraped past Croatian Franko Skugor 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 in 1 hour 35 minutes.
Another former winner and sixth seed Dudi Sela of Israel faced some anxious moments before overcoming qualifier Ilya Ivashka of Belarus 6-2, 7-6 (3) in 1 hour 33 minutes.
