Bangalore, Jul 26: V Chandra Sekhar a software engineer from Hyderabad was found dead under suspicious circumstances in the city on Tuesday, 24 July morning. He is said to be the son of a retired teacher, Bhavani Shankar Rao, a native of Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh and had come to Bangalore on an induction programme at Wipro just about 20 days ago.
Sekhar had earlier worked as a programmer for a software company in Hyderabad. He had stayed at the city’s BTM Delight, the company guest house in BTM Layout II Stage. He had returned home on Monday night.
As per initial reports on Wednesday morning, the guest house caretaker B S Rao got suspicious when Sekhar didn't respond to his repeated knocks on the door. The police were then called, who on breaking open the door found Sekhar lying dead in the room lying naked. He had vomited all over the room. The AC and the ceiling fan were running at full blast and the room was extremely chilly. Also found on the spot were around eight bottles of beer and a few strips of tablets.
As per police sources on prelimnary investigations, it seems to be that Sekhar may have had excessive liquor and died of severe cold. There seems to be "prima facie” no other motive for the death. The A/C and ceiling fan details seems a bit bizarre and only a detailed post mortem will reveal the exact cause of death, according to senior police officials.
In the meantime, body samples have been sent for pathological test after the autopsy. Doctors reveal, he had hypertension and arthritis. The body would be handed over to his brother-in-law. A case of unnatural death has been registered by the police.
