Mangalore, Jul 23: A Master’s Degree course, a programme in software technology, will be started by St Aloysius College from this academic year.

According to a press release, the government of Karnataka and the University have approved this course, which will be the first in Karnataka. This course will help the student to complete the Master’s degree in two years and they can join the software industry, the release said. This course will enable those who completed BSc Computer Science, BCA or BE (computer science/IT) to register for it.

The release stated that the course has been designed in consultation with the software industry, and it intends to prepare professionals in tune with industry requirements. It is estimated to have a higher value than MCA and involves three semesters’ theoretical inputs and one semester of project working in software industry.

The graduates who complete this course will be placed in good software companies through campus recruitment.

According to the release, the courses will begin in the first week of August.
