Mangalore, Jul 16: A person having two passports has been arrested by the Suratkal police here, on Sunday July 16.
According to the police the arrested has been identified as Abdul Lathif (41), a resident of Chokkabettu. He had made two passports in different years, with different addresses. The first passport issued was on 1993 with the address proof given as Chokkabettu house, Suratkal, Mangalore, and on it the date of birth given was 07/06/1967. The passport was renewed on expiry.
The second passport was issued in the year 1995, with the address proof given as Attavar Mission compound, Monkey Stand, door no 22-12-1236 Mangaladevi Cross Road. Abdul is working in Dubai and has come now to India a few days ago on vacation.
In both the passports the father’s name was given as Moiddin.
In 2005, Abdul’s wife Sakina Banu a resident of Krishnapur, 6th Block had lodged a complaint against Abdul stating that he was harassing her for dowry. In the course of the complaint she revealed to the police that her husband owned two passports, and had left her here and escaped to Dubai.
Abdul has been arrested by the police and both the passports have been confiscated from him. He has been produced before the court.
