Bangalore / New Delhi, July 14: Karnataka government on Friday requested the union government to seek information from British authorities about Kafeel Ahmed, the Indian who is suspected to have driven a flaming jeep into Glasgow airport, and his accomplice Bilal Abdulla, allegedly involved in the failed UK terror plot.

The matter was raised by Karnataka chief minister, H D Kumaraswamy ,during the 30-minute meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh here, official sources said here on Friday.

Bangalore Police wanted to ascertain whether any Pakistan-based militant outfit or any pan-Islamic group had formed a base in the IT capital of the country.

The Bangalore police wanted passport details of Bilal Abdulla, who was accompanying Kafeel when he had made an unsuccessful attempt to ram an explosive-laden car into Glasgow airport.

This, the sources said, was required to ascertain whether Abdulla had visited Bangalore and was in touch with Kafeel.
