Munich, Sep 24 (IANS): Bayern Munich chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge on Thursday said they have made coach Pep Guardiola a "great" offer which will be difficult for him to refuse.
Guardiola's present contract will expire at the end of the season and he has not shown much signs of putting his pen on a new deal, sparking speculation about him quitting Bayern. But Rummenigge does not believe it will happen.
"I am optimistic about Pep's renewal, we have a great offer on the table, which you cannot just shove aside," Rummenigge was quoted as saying by goal.com.
"We have a first class team, a fantastic club, a great stadium and a wonderful city to offer. We will have a serious conversation with Pep in the upcoming weeks and we will see what comes from that.
"I want to win the Champions League again -- with Guardiola in charge," he added.
Guardiola has been instrumental in helping Bayern win back-to-back Bundesliga titles after coming on as a replacement for Jupp Heynckes in 2013, but still awaits European glory with the club.
