Mangalore, Jul 11: School managements should help the children to build strong foundation at a very young age by providing modern technologies like computer lab, said Dr Madhav Kamath, renowned surgeon at KMC, Mangalore inaugurating the ultra-modern computer lab at Canara Primary School, Urwa near here, recently.
The computer laboratory is equipped with 32 latest model computers with the contribution of the children’s parents and the School Management. The total cost of the project is Rs 15 lac.
Dr U Mohandas Nayak, vice-president of the Canara High School Association thanked the parents for their support and complimented Radha R Prabhu, the headmistress.
The students of III, IV and V standard will receive basic knowledge about the computers at this new facility and in the later stage students of I & II standard will also be included, said headmistress Radha R Prabhu.
P G Shenoy, school manager, Annappa, general secretary of the association, M Raghunath Shet, philanthropist, Balakrishna Shenoy, U Ganesh Rao, Ranganath Bhat, Kochikar Sudhakar Pai, Sudhir Pai Maroor and heads of various Canara Institutions were present on the occasion.
