Mangalore, Jul 11: The Central Market in the city is waiting for changes now. Accordingly, M Maheshwar Rao, deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada paid a visit to the Central Market and surveyed it on Wednesday July 11 morning.
While on his visit, he saw the traffic disruption in and around the market area. Mean while, DC has decided to form some rules to streamline the parking of two-wheelers, four-wheelers and heavy vehicles which bring goods and groceries to the market.
The DC has also decided to vacate the street vendors from the foot path. Sources said that the new rules would come into effect from Aug.1.
City Corporation Commissioner Krishnappa Poojary, Health Officer Dr Manjayya Shetty, Assistant Health Officer Padmanabha, Assistant Revenue Officer Praveen were present on the spot with DC.
