Sullia, Jul 4: The state government proposes to bring a suitable amendment to the land tenancy act so that there is suitable provision for the farmer’s 'Moolageni' right of the land, stated the revenue minister Jagadish Shettar here, after laying the foundation stone to the mini vidhana soudha to be constructed for Sullia taluk on Tuesday, July 3.
Speaking on the occasion, Shettar said a final decision on the matter would be taken in the cabinet meeting. From ‘Dakshina Kannada' district the maximum number of applications were received and the government on its part would take steps to clear these applications at the earliest, he promised.
Shettar said the government this year had released Rs 2 crore each for the construction of mini vidhana soudhas at 18 talukas in the State so that the common man need not travel all the way to the towns for all his needs.
According to the revenue minister the compensation in case of natural calamity under Central Road Fund (CRF) had been raised to Rs 1 lac in case of death and Rs 20,000 for loss of house. Further he stated that 500 acres of 'Gomala' land at Badagannur in Puttur taluk would be donated to Sri Ramachandrapura Mutt.
Shettar also said that the government had earlier taken several steps to set forth in motion the construction of 'Bayalu Ranga Mandira here, but it had not progressed in the last two decades he added.
