Medellin (Colombia), Sep 11 (IANS): Indian archer Swati Dudhwal lost to Ana Cristina Juarez of Mexico in the quarter-finals of the fourth leg of the archery World Cup here.
Dudhwal lost her battle with the Mexican in the compound women's individual category with the score reading 136-139. In the same event, Jayalakshmi Sarikonda failed to get past her third round opponent -- Paige Pearce of USA who pocketed the match 142-138 on Thursday night.
In the recurve women's individual event, Satbir Kaur and Pranitha Vardhineni made it till the third round but then lost out. Satbir was blanked 0-6 by Hong Sunam while Pranitha lost 2-6 to Le Chien-Yieng.
The men too suffered the same fate in the recurve individual event as Atul Verma and Dhaniram Basumatary failed to make it to the fourth round.
Both lost their third stage ties with Verma surrendering to China's Xing Yu, 0-6 and Basumatary losing 2-6 to IM Dong Hyun of South Korea.
Surprisingly, Sarvesh Pareek lost his level three encounter also in the compound men’s category losing out to local talent Camilo Andres Cardona, 143-146.
