BANGALORE, Jun 24: A retired Saudi Arabian Airforce Officer NRI was found murdered in his car at Garvebavipalya in Madivala. The victim's name was given as Ali Mohammed Khan (70). Around 11 am on Saturday, 23 June. A passerby opened the door of the Maruti Omni out of curiosity as a foul smell was emanating from it. Inside he found the highly decomposed body, he then informed the police.
According to one of his relative Ali Mohammed Khan had left home on Wednesday at 1 pm as he had received a call around 11.30 am . The caller called him to Bommanahalli for a property deal. Khan then left home in his Maruti Omni at 1 pm, by telling them that he was going to the Koramangala BDA Complex. But then he did not return. Around 4 pm, when his family tried to contact him, his mobile was not reachable. Strangely, his family members lodged a missing complaint with the Ashoknagar police only on Thursday.
Khan had settled with his wife and son at Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. He was in Jeddah for the past 35 years. He had retired after serving as an officer with the Saudi Arabian Air force. His son runs a cargo business. Of his two daughters, one is settled in Jeddah, while the other is in Bangalore.
As per another relative, the victim has a house in Shanthinagar, however the family visited Bangalore only on rare occasions. This time, he was in the city since the past three months, as he had planned to buy a site there. The family is in a state of shock after the incident. As they were clueless about who may have done it and with what motive, the relative added.
As the motive for the murder remains a mystery, the case has been handed over to the Central Crime Branch for investigation as per the police.
