Neymar denies transfer to Manchester United

Barcelona, Aug 30 (IANS): Barcelona forward Neymar has dismissed speculation linking him to a world record transfer to English Premier League (EPL) giants Manchester United.

United were reportedly willing to splash a world-record $218 million on the Brazilian superstar who returned from illness to help Barcelona beat Malaga 1-0 in a La liga clash at the Camp Nou on Saturday and record their second win of the season.

The former Santos forward, however, indicated that he was happy to be a part of Barcelona's feared attacking trinity that also feature Argentine star Lionel Messi and Uruguay striker Luis Suarez.

"I know nothing of Manchester, I'm out of this and do not hear. I am happy at Barcelona and Barca people can rest assured," the 23-year-old was quoted as saying by the Spanish media.

"When I hear things like this, I don't think anything. I just heard it and I am calm. I am very happy at Barca and with my colleagues," he added. "The people from Barca can be calm.

"I want to stay at Barcelona, no matter how many million pound offers come from England."

Neymar is expected to be offered a new five-year deal at Barcelona with a buyout clause exceeding $279 million.

This will come as a big blow to Manchester United manager Luis van Gaal, who is keen to bring a big-name forward to Old Trafford as he seeks to turn the team into genuine contenders for the EPL title.

The Barca trio' are superb. Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez.

All three players are from South America and they do have their cultural similarities with Barca, Spain.
