Rio De Janeiro, Aug 29 (IANS): Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho has been called-up by Brazil coach Dunga for friendlies against Costa Rica and the US, the country's football federation (CBF) said.
Coutinho, a surprise absentee from Brazil's original squad announced earlier this month, will be joined by Barcelona midfielder Rafinha, who was also added by Dunga on Friday, Xinhua news agency reported.
The pair will replace injured Chelsea duo Oscar and Ramires.
Brazil will meet Costa Rica in New Jersey on September 5 and the US in Foxborough, Massachusetts, three days later.
The fixtures will be Brazil's first since their Copa America quarterfinal defeat to Paraguay on penalties in June.
