Mangalore, Jun 20: The state government should handover all obsolete “gomala” lands in the district to Dakshina Kannada cooperative Milk Producers Union Limited DKMUL), asked Suratkal MLA Krishna Palemar after inaugurating Nandini milk parlour set up by DKMUL at Bajpe airport here according to an official press release on Tuesday June 19.
He further advised them to involve the union in revitalizing the “gomala” land into grazing grounds for cattle.
Palemar said that minister for revenue Jagdish Shettar and minister for public works and president of Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) H D Revanna had promised to take steps regarding the protection development of gomala land across the state. They had also agreed to handover gomala land to the KMF, he added.
Palemar urged the president of DKMUL Kaup Diwakar Shetty and managing director A M Shivakumar to take the lead in this direction.
