Mangaluru, Aug 16: Police have warned a person who attempted to register a bogus complaint with them.

Ismail from Kaup near Udupi came to Bunder police station on Friday, August 14 and complained to them about a car theft. He said that Maruti Ritz car was stolen from the parking space at Medicare building near Bunts hostel in city. He informed that the car belonged to his friend in Kota.

When the police grew suspicious after hearing the ‘story’, they dug deeper into the matter. The complainant later admitted that the complaint was bogus. The fact was, the bank people had seized his car for non payment of loan.

The exact motive of Ismail has not been revealed. But the police made sure that they warned him. They also registered a petty case against him before letting him go.
