Mirpur (Bangladesh), July 31 (IANS): A heavy downpour washed out the morning session and heavy rain resumed again in the afternoon, prompting the umpires to call off the second day's play of the Bangladesh-South Africa Test match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium here on Friday.
The pitch and the outfield have been completely covered since Thursday night. None of the teams even started for the ground due to the downpour, reports bdnews24.com.
Bangladesh were 246 for 8 after opting to bat at the end of the first day's play.
The hosts are looking to Nasir Hossain, who is unbeaten on 13, to take the score to around 300.
