New Delhi, July 17 (IANS): Ace designer Rohit Bal is set to create a world of fantasy through an off-site show during the Amazon India Couture Week (AICW) 2015, at which Rahul Mishra, the first Indian to win the coveted International Woolmark Prize (IWP), will debut.
“We are excited that Rohit Bal will be presenting his exquisite collection on the ramp at the Amazon India Couture Week 2015 in a very unique style.
“We are also proud to present one of the finest new design talents Rahul Mishra for his maiden showcase at the Couture Week. We are confident that this will further raise the bar of excellence in couture fashion,” Sunil Sethi, president of Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), India's apex fashion body, said in a statement.
Bal is famous for his suave cuts and beautiful fabrics, while Mishra is a staunch believer in integrating the rich heritage of Indian craft with the constantly varying pulse of global fashion. His forte is to blend the rusticness of Indian art and craft, and the earthiness of Indian handloom textiles with the fineness of urban fashion.
Spanning five days, AICW 2015 will start on July 29 at Taj Palace Hotel.
