Gwangju (South Korea), July 11 (IANS): The 2017 Winter Universiade, to be hosted in Almaty, Kazakhstan, will add three new sports, International University Sports Federation (FISU) announced.
The sports programme of the Universiade now includes alpine skiing team competition (instead of the combined classification), new parallel slalom snowboard competition (besides the giant slalom) and aerials in addition to freestyle skiing, reports Xinhua.
The decision came from a FISU Executive Committee meeting. The next meeting is scheduled to take place in February 2016 in Brussels.
