Mangaluru, Jul 2: A cheating case against a person has been registered at Ullal police station. The case involves an amount of Rs 70 lac which was taken to provide medical seats to three students at a medical college near Ullal.
Vikram Kumar, the owner of Career Guidance in K R Puram in Bengaluru is the person accused of cheating. M G Subbaiah from Bengaluru is the complainant.
Vikram Kumar had promised Subbaiah that he would provide three medical seats at a medical college in Deralakatte within Ullal police limits. He fixed Rs 36 lac for each medical seat. On June 11, he took Rs 6 lacs advance from Subbaiah in a hotel in Mangaluru, being Rs 2 lac each from three students.
On Monday Jun 29, Vikram Kumar called the students and took them to the college in Deralakatte. He collected the relevant documents from them. He told them that they should give him the money as the media will come to know if the money is handed over inside the college. The students gave him the cash accordingly.
The students and Subbaiah were made to wait at the college premises. When Vikram not return Subbaiah phoned him. Vikram said he was at a bank nearby and would come sooner.
The waiting people later found that Vikrant had run away with their money, as his mobile phone was found switched off. College management said that they did not know Vikrant or anything about the issue.
Subbaiah later decided to file a police complaint at Ullal police station. The amount Vikram allegedly took was Rs 70 lacs collected from three students.
