Wimbledon, June 30 (IANS): Defending champion Petra Kvitova eased her way into the women's singles second round of Wimbledon by beating World No.108 Kiki Bertens here on Tuesday.
The second seed needed only 35 minutes for a 6-1, 6-0 win over the Dutchwoman on Centre Court. Kvitova, also the 2011 winner, captured her second Wimbledon title by defeating Eugenie Bouchard of Canada in the final last year, reports Xinhua.
"It was a great feeling. I have so many nice memories. I was very nervous. But when I was on the court and people were clapping the atmosphere was unbelievable," Kvitova said.
She will next face either Japan's Kurumi Nara or Magda Linette of Poland.
