Kasargod: Two youngsters killed in head-on collision of bikes

Kasargod, Jun 29: Two youngster were killed and another injured after two bikes had a head-on collision late night on Sunday June 28 at Adka on Bandiyod-Permude road.

While Jeevan Rodrigues (23) died soon after the accident, Joy Machado (22) passed away in a hospital on Monday June 29.

Jeevan Rodrigues was the son of Thomas Rodrigues from Kayyar, while Joy, who was riding pillion with him, was the son of Jacob and Angeline Machado, residents near Kayyar church. Joy has a brother staying in the Gulf.

Kamalaksha who was riding another bike was also injured in the accident.

As soon as the accident took place, all three injured were taken to Uppala hospital but Jeevan could not be saved. After that two were taken to a hospital in Mangaluru, where Joy died.

Jeevan was riding the bike with his friend Joy to Kayyar. Kamalaksha was riding another bike in the opposite direction. Both bikes collided at Adka. The bikes were severely damaged.

Jeevan was working as mason.

    The young generation is dying in accidents, this is not the fault of their parents. The parents are thinking best of them to grow up and come up in their life but results we can understand and think!
    Very sad news. May Lord give eternal rest to them.

    so many young boys are dying in accidents. In most of the cases impatient,reckless driving ,narrow roads,deep edges of roads etc. The agony for the life of the parents cannot be imagined because of nuclear family. The youth should be given proper counselling by NGO and rto.for improper roads the officials and politicians should be punished for their failure in duties. May the souls of young boys rest in peace.we must try for proper solutuion to save young boys dying by accident,drowning in water,suicide etc.The educational values must be improved in this direction

    Bikes has given deadly wings, to our youths today !!!! they believe that they are a pilots with no ATC (air traffic controller)to monitor these youngsters..... results are
    often tragic.......Parents must be lamenting, as to why they have gifted their children with these death toys !!!!! RIP !!!!!
