Bantwal, Jun 28: Two separate cases relating to missing of two young girls registered at Bantwal rural police station have seen new twists.
A young girl missing from her house at Pudu Maripalla was reported on June 21 and case was registered at the police station. The same day Irshad (24) from Pandavarakallu Kominadka went missing. Rumour mills said that two went together which could not be confirmed in the beginning.
When the families of the missing persons searched for them, the youngsters were found in Dharwad. After that both were brought back to their respective houses. The girl has now complained to the police that Irshad abducted her and raped her. A police case has been registered on the same and Irshad has been arrested.
In another incident, a young girl who was missing from her house in Sajipanadu from Jun 11 came to the police station on June 17 with a person named Imthiaz and said that she had gone willingly with Imthiaz. Since she did not agree to go to her house, she was sent to Prajna counselling centre in Mangaluru for counselling.
On Saturday, the girl came to the police station with her family and lodged a police complaint alleging that Imthiaz had kidnapped her. Police have registered the case and investigating further.
Both the cases are handled by circle inspector Beliappa and his team.
