Hugh Grant to play British General Hugh Rose to Kangana's Rani Laxmi Bai

Mumbai, Jun 25: In an Indo-British production, about the life and times of the brave Rani Laxmi Bai of Jhansi, the makers who have Kangana signed in to the play the martyred Jhansi, are planning to approach British actor Hugh Grant to play General Hugh Rose.

Ketan confirmed the actress taking on the lead role in the movie, by saying, "Yes, Kangana is on board. I always wanted to make The Rising as a trilogy. So, this film will be the second part after Mangal Pandey (2005). I am very excited."

The 'Queen' actress gave her nod after reading the script, which apparently impressed her. She was very excited when she was approached by Ketan Mehta. The in-depth research done for the project was another factor that impressed the actress. Having given her consent, the next course of action for the actress is to begin her training in the use of arms and ammunitions of old, as well as horse riding and sword fighting.

Re-enacting the war, the fight and the subsequent death of the celebrated Queen, is a huge undertaking and that in order to make it as authentic as possible, the makers are planning on having English actor Hugh Grant on board. Reportedly the shooting schedule has been planned to being in a year's time which will be the middle of 2016.
