Real Madrid's Navas does not need surgery: Doctors

Madrid, Jun 23 (IANS/EFE): Real Madrid's Costa Rican goalkeeper Keylor Navas, who returned to Madrid on Monday getting married back home, said the club's medical staff said he does not have to undergo surgery as a result of his Achilles tendon injury.

"I'm happy and thank god that the club doctors examined me in Madrid and ruled out surgery on my heel injury," Navas tweeted on Monday.

"I received platelet rich plasma treatment on my left heel today at Sanitas La Moraleja. Time to rest now," he added.

Navas had been suffering some pain in his foot for a while, but it got worse after the friendly match with Spain on June 12 in Leon

The Costa Rican goalkeeper may not be able to represent his country in the upcoming Gold Cup due to his injury.
