Pune, Apr 30: The Mangalorean Catholic Association, Pune held its 11th annual general meeting and picnic at Express Garden here on Sunday April 29.
The programme was presided over by Association president Aloysius Saldanha. Speaking on the occasion, he said that it is a matter of pride that the Association has been conducting activities out of love for language.
He further said, ‘With the support of one and all, the Association hopes to grow from strength to strength and thereby work towards developing our culture. We should inculcate similar vales in children so that they take forward the work of the Association to greater heights.’
Sabina D’Souza welcomed the gathering while Association secretary Benjamin Mathias read out the annual report. Treasurer Baptist A D’Souza presented the annual financial report.
Association’s mouthpiece ‘Mangalore in Touch’ editor Herald R Lobo introduced the members.
Active members of the Association Antony Sunny and Sabina D’Souza, Association president Saldanha and wife Ivy A Saldanha, Harry Lobo and secretary Benjamin Mathias were honoured on the occasion.
Games like Housie-Housie and others were organized as part of the picnic.
Ronnie Menezes, Philip Lobo Kateel, John B Moras Modankap, advocate K D’Silva and others were present. Cultural secretary Felcy Karmokar and John Carvalho proposed the vote of thanks.
