New Delhi, June 18 (IANS): The multi-city performance of American alternative rock stalwarts Puddle of Mudd in Hard Rock Cafe venues, have been cancelled due to "unforeseen circumstances", the organisers said.
“We would like to inform all music fans that the much awaited Puddle of Mudd concert at Hard Rock Cafe has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. We look forward to bringing them to India in the near future. We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience it has caused you," read a statement by Hard Rock Cafe India.
The performances were to happen June and July.
Considered a proverbial force of modern rock music by fans across the globe, the band was set to perform at Hard Rock Cafe's five venues in India - Gurgaon, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore and Hyderabad.
Hailing from Kansas City, the band registered back-to-back hit albums with 2001's “Come Clean” - the album which catapulted Puddle of Mudd into mainstream charts - and 2003's “Life on Display”, which further strengthened the band's popularity. Overall, the band has recorded five studio albums and one cover album.
The band's controversial yet talented frontman Wes Scantlin once said that he writes music with “love, frustration and aggression".
“Mere happiness would make the record suck,” he added.
Known for his spontaneity, wild onstage delivery and lack of pretense, Scantlin is hailed as one of the most popular rock vocalists and guitarists by fans and critics alike.
Puddle of Mudd also features Matt Fuller (lead guitar/backing vocals), Michael John Adams (bass/backing vocals) and Dave Moreno (drums/backing vocals).
The band's last album “Re:(disc)covered” was released in 2011 on Arms Division Records.
