Panaji, Apr 24: This is something very interesting. Goa getting into FM-era.

First it was Big FM. Later, Radio Mirchi and now Radio Indigo. Goans will now get more choice of FM other than All India Radio's conventional FM Rainbow.

The FM craze has already gripped metros and smaller cities. Goa was away from the buzz. But now, by the end of this year, Goa too will have its own Radio Jockeys (RJs) playing real Goan music. And perhaps, FM telling us when Mandovi bridge is blocked and when it not blocked and furthermore, advicing us to take the roots.
Radio Indigo, traced on 91.1 frequency, is a Jupiter Capital venture and is the first and the only International Music FM station in the country.

In sync with the pulse of Goa, the station will play a vibrant array of genres of music from pop, classic rock, hip-hop, jazz to world music round the clock. Indigo will cater to the inherited and nurtured international music legacy of Goa. With a trump card radical identity, Radio Indigo is all set to awe Panaji in the month of May.

Radio Indigo’s musicology of pure play will bring cheer to the International music lovers of Panaji. Embracing a mood-based programming approach, the station will play slow, peppy numbers at the start of the day and up the tempo as the day progresses. From producing the country's only Jazz show 'Indigo & Blues' to serving ‘international’ flavour with syndicated programming American top 40 with Ryan Seacrest,

The top 20 countdown with Casey Kasem and the Putumayo World music hour, Radio Indigo will be the answer to every discerning music connoisseur. Every Saturday night, the best of dance music will come in a nifty package - Indigo Hotmix with RJ Rohit Barker and DJ Ivan, considered the biggest DJ in the country.

Indigo Nocturnal is the exclusively produced dance radio show by International DJ Matt Darey. Indigo Nocturnal will bring the best mixes from the world’s prime DJs Oakenfold, Tiesto, Armin and Paul Van Dyk and many more, making it the only station that has access to the grooves of the world.

Radio Indigo 91.9 FM was first launched in Bangalore in September 2006 and has since floored the city with the refreshing content and programming. With Bangalore, the Panaji station will be the first to break the newest International songs on the tableau that reach the country’s horizon.

In a deluge of similar sounding radio stations 91.9FM Radio Indigo stands out in distinct ways:
Station Imaging- 91.9FM Radio Indigo has world-class packaging and imaging done by TM Century, the production house behind some of the most successful radio stations in the world. Sean Caldwell the talent behind radio stations like KISSFM and stations from New York and New Oreleans voices the station stings and sweeps. This gives Radio Indigo a truly international sound.

Music- 91.9FM Radio is focused on playing the best the world has to offer. Indigo boasts of the largest library of English and International music in the country. The library is well represented with selections from Pop, classic rock, rock, Hip Hop, Dance, Jazz and World music

So Goans, be ready for a new class of music. Hope these FM stations will give us liberty to throw our old cassette players in Mandovi and get us away from Cassette stores looking out for new cassettes or CDs.
