Pakistani, Indian designers come together in London


London, June 12 (IANS): The Asian fashion elite came together at the Saatchi Gallery in London’s Chelsea for Fashion Parade - a grand fashion show celebrating the finest fashion from South Asia.

The fashion show showcased the work of ten Pakistani and Indian designers - Aashni Co presents Anamika Khanna, Syeda Amera, Seher Tareen, Areeba Asif, REMA, Rani Emaan, Ali Xeeshan, Rose Room Couture (by Aashni Co.), Hira Shah and Jyoti Chandhok here on Thursday, read a statement.

Fashion Parade, brainchild of Sadia Siddiqui, founder of Mustang Productions, is a platform for South Asian designers to bring their designs to London. In association with Ammara Hikmat of Encyclomedia, Fashion Parade launched in 2013.

A major highlight of the event included five-year-old British Pakistani sensation Laila Naim, who became the first Pakistani model for British luxury fashion house Burberry, walking for designer Xeeshan at the Fashion Parade, attended by celebrities like Shoaib Malik, Suhel Seth and Kanika Kapoor.
