'Drishyam' trailer crosses 1.5 mn hits online


New Delhi, June 11 (IANS): The trailer of actor Ajay Devgn's "Drishyam" has garnered over 1.5 million views, indicating the intrigue surrounding the movie.

The first look and trailer of this upcoming thriller, which was released on June 4 online, has left the audiences intrigued and riveted, heightening the anticipation for its release.

This out-of-the-box concept of a trailer launch was widely acclaimed by the audience and it went viral in no time, as seen on the YouTube page of producers Viacome18 Motion Pictures.

The makers launched the trailer in a unique way by introducing an alluring game on social media, which has a few levels where the gamer needs to find clues and answers which eventually leads to Vijay’s journey in the film.

Ajay's only release in 2015 will witness him in an all-new avatar as Vijay Salgaonkar, a common man working as a cable operator who challenges the system when his family is threatened.

Tabu will be seen playing the role of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Meera Deshmukh in the film. A tough policewoman and known to be meticulous in her investigation, her prime suspect is Salgaonkar. "Drishyam" also features Shriya Saran as Vijay's wife along with the talented Rajat Kapoor.

A Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Panorama Studios Production, "Drishyam", a Hindi remake of an eponymous Malayalam film, is directed by Nishikant Kamat and releases on July 31, 2015.
