Panaji, Apr 18: The BJP has said that it will not enter into an alliance with any party or group to form government in Uttar Pradesh even if it emerges as the single largest party after the assembly polls.

"BJP will emerge as the single largest party and strive to form government in Uttar Pradesh. We will not support formation of any group or party in Uttar Pradesh," BJP national spokesperson Rajeev Pratap Rudy told reporters here.

He said that instead of forming an alliance, BJP would rather prefer to sit in Opposition even after emerging as the single largest party.

"The exit polls had indicated that BJP was in third or fourth position but now it is surging ahead and will become the single largest party," Rudy claimed.

Over the recent CD controversy, Rudy said, "The CD was not approved by the BJP and its release was a mischief," adding that the party should be complimented for pre-empting the mischief done by some people.
