Mangaluru: Free health check up camp held at Kanachur Hospital

Mangaluru, Jun 2: “Leisure time and sound health are the biggest gift to us given by the Almighty. But today in this contemporary world, people are failing to make use of it for the constructive purpose”, said Syeda Ahmed Jalaluddin Sayeda Al Bukhari, general secretary, Malhar Campus, Manjeshwar.

He was speaking at the inauguration of the free health check-up camp organized by Kanachur Hospital and Research Centre, Deralakatte in association with Malhar Campus on May, 31 at Malhar Campus, Manjeshwar.

Speaking on the five pillars of Islam, he said that its one of the objectives was to keep person fit; physically, mentally and emotionally. He requested the audience to supplicate constantly for better health since it could only lead to reach the goal.

Giving a brief sketch of the hospital, Abdul Rahiman, director, finance and administration, Kanachur Hospital and Research Centre, said, “This camp at Malhar campus is going to be the just beginning of our mission of reaching maximum number of needy people”.

Applauding the sincere efforts of Kanachur Hospital and Research Centre, Dr Mohan, Health Inspector, Manjeshwar promised of helping the hospital in all respect.

Addressing the students who were present at the venue, Dr Khaja Nasseruddin, dean, Kanachur Hospital and Research Centre emphasized on the financial health. He said that financial health was as important as mental, emotional and social health for Ulems who pass out from the Islamic institutions.

Speaking on the significance of No Tobacco Day, he urged the gathering to get away from consuming, selling or production of tobacco.

Dr Gopal Aachar, Department of Surgery, spoke on the facilities available at the hospital. He said that during the camp free ‘camp card’ will be provided to all the visitors under which free surgery, free food, free bed, free registration, free admission and testing will be conducted at a discounted rate.

Qatar Bawa Haji, Kedumbady, Dr Devi Prasad, medical superintendent, Kanachur Hospital and Research Centre, Harshad Varkady, vice president, Block Panchayat, Manjeshwar and Kaje Abdullah, member, Manjeshwar Panchayat were present at the venue.

During the camp more than 470 patients were given free health checkup and free medicines.
Specialist doctors of different departments like surgery, general medicine, orthopedic, pediatrics, dental, ophthalmology, psychiatric, dermatology and OBG were present at the camp.

Hasan Saidi, Staff, Malhar Campus recited prayer. Anus Siddique, Staff, Malhar Campus welcomed the gathering. Zubair Sakafi Al- Kamili proposed vote of thanks. Pratik, Staff, Front Office was the master of ceremony.
