Doha, May 26: Mangalore Cultural Association, Doha-Qatar, a Mangalurean association at the foremost in Qatar, well-known for all its programmes with a class and innovative thoughts, is once again geared up for a fantabulous event for this year. The winners of Gulf Voice of Mangalore from 2008 to 2014 will be on one stage with the melodious immortal and ever memorable songs of the legend of Konkani music Konkan Kogull Wilfy Rebimbus.
For the first time ever, GVOM stars Vinay Lewis, Ivan Fernandes, Gladys Lorenha, Reena D’Souza, Morvine Quadros and Joshal Sweeda D’Souza will perform with the legend's family – 'Konkan Myna' Meena Rebimbus, Veena and Vishwas.
The whole event will be compered by the compere beyond comparison Leslie Rego. The music will be led under the able leadership of music maestro Joswin Pinto. Well-known comedians from Udupi diocese Merwyn Shirva, Royston Barkur and Alwyn Danthy Pernal will tickle the funny bones of the Doha audience.
The organizers have promised to make it a memorable evening for the enthusiastic Konkani audience of Qatar. This event will be staged at the Regency Halls Doha Qatar on October 16 at 5:30 pm. Daijiworld is the media partner for this event.
MCA Puruskar
MCA has always stood for its aim and never deviated from its objective. Year by year the Association has only grown stronger in its motive and strived towards the upliftment of the less fortunate people of society, be it in education, medical or other basic needs of the poorest of the poor. For this MCA came into existence and for this it has strived and will continue putting in its efforts. The working committee of MCA is determined to selflessly endeavor in the right path always, come what may, without expecting anything in return. Inspired by the life of Mother Theresa who is its patron, service will always be the main motive of MCA.
Going further with this thought, the MCA Puruskar for this year will be conferred on a person who has rendered an extraordinary, remarkable and unbelievable service to the most unfortunate people of society. MCA Seva Puruskar – 2015 will be awarded to Joseph Crasta for his outstanding selfless service through his Snehalaya Orphanage Home for the abandoned. The Award consists of Rs 1,00,000, a shawl, citation and a memento which will be conferred on him during the annual event in October this year. More details will be soon published in this website.
Funeral Fund
The newly formed MCA executive committee for the year 2015-2017 has decided on a new benefit for the MCA members. Death is the most dreadful truth of everyone’s life and no one knows when its going to come. Accepting this fact, MCA has introduced from this year a Funeral Fund for the benefit of all members on the rolls of MCA. On any unforeseen death of a member (if the membership is single then for self, if it’s a family membership, then for the family residing in Qatar and the names mentioned on the application of MCA), the association will hand over a sum of Rs 25,000 to the next of kin of the deceased member. This benefit is from immediate effect.
