Kundapur, May 27: Modi government in the centre has just completed a year in office. Followers and fans of Modi as well as the party workers have celebrated the occasion in different ways. Some of them have spent lavishly. There are very few reports of people celebrating it meaningfully. A die hard Modi fan in Kundapur has celebrated it in a special way indeed. He has charged only one rupee for five kilometres of travel in his rickshaw.
The name of the rickshaw driver is S Satish Prabhu from Ankadakatte near Kundapur.
Prabhu has been rickshaw driver for the past 20 years. He is a Modi fan. He decided to celebrate the completion of Modi government in office in a different way. He charged only a rupee for every five kilometre travelled in his auto on Tuesday May 26. Some passengers did not have one rupee change. Yet somehow they managed to get a coin of one rupee and put it in the box kept in Prabhu’s auto.
Prabhu has decided to send the money collected to Modi through public representatives. He thinks that money, through a small amount, will help Modi to spend for social causes. People in Kundapur have really appreciated and admired the gesture of Prabhu.
Even last year when Modi assumed office, Prabhu had done the similar thing. But it was only a trial. Now he has continued the same in a bigger way. Prabhu had a plan to continue this special service for two days. But due to some family commitments, he cannot continue, though he is willing to.
Even though this special service looked different and strange, people have been reminded that Modi has completed a year in office.
