Mangaluru, May 18: Rashmitha from Sharada Vidyalaya here secured the first rank in state in the commerce field, with a total of 593 out of 600.
Rashmitha's percentage in marks is 98.83%. She is the daughter of B Purushotham and Shashikala from Bejai Kapikad here.
With full marks in four subjects, Rashmitha's achievement has made her parents, college and city proud.
Rashmitha score 100 in business studies, accountancy, mathematics, and statistics, 99 in Sanskrit and 94 in English.
Speaking to daijiworld, an elated Rashmitha said that her ambition is to become a chartered accountant.
Asked how she prepared for the exams, she said, "Studying with friends during revision holidays really helped me. I did not anything extra and was studying as usual. I visited the library frequently."
Her mother Shashikala said, "We expected her to do well but never thought she was get a rank. Even during exams, she was studying in her usual way, in fact she was less into studies and more into her other interests like dance, singing and art. She did not even attend tuitions." Rashmita is now preparing for CPT exams.
Another student of the same college, Arya M, scored 590 in PCMB, with 100 in mathematics and physics, and 99 in biology and chemistry. She is expected to be among the toppers in the state. She is the daughter of Mani Nayak and Srimathi Nayak. Arya said that she wants to become a paediatrician.
Other toppers in the college include Saurabh Surendra Kumar (589 in commerce), Manvitha (588 in science) and Harsha Shetty (585 in commerce).
