Chennai, May 15 (IANS): Indian racing driver Armaan Ebrahim on Friday confirmed his participation in the Blancpain Lamborghini Trofeo Series in Asia.
The 26-year-old Chennai-based Ebrahim will be driving for works team Dilantha Racing in the six-round series that will conclude on November 22 with a grand finale at the historic Sebring International Raceway in Florida.
After a two-season stint in the World GT Championship in Europe, the hugely experienced Ebrahim opted for the Asia series that he believes will serve as a platform for his future plans. The first round of the series is scheduled for June 20-21 at Fuji, Japan.
"I took some time to finalise the road map ahead in Asian racing as there are some phenomenal developments taking place in the region and keeping this in mind, the Lamborghini series is an ideal platform to position myself for the future," the JK Tyre Racing brand ambassador said.
"It is a very well packaged and competitive series, and with the past success of Dilantha Racing, I am confident of having a crack at the title.
"This year, I will be driving the new Lamborghini Hurracan GT car and I am eager to put it through the paces during the pre-season testing in June.
"The street races in Malaysia and the World final in Sebring will be the highlights of the series and I would like to thank my prime sponsors JK Tyre for supporting me in this venture."
