Mangalore, Mar 30: The issue of approval of construction works of KUDCEMP projects came to the fore at the Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) general meeting held here on Thursday March 30.

The members passed a resolution stating the prior approval by MCC engineers of all civil construction projects taken up by KUDCEMP and other authorities coming under the purview of MCC.

The resolution was passed following a discussion on KUDCEMP works regarding fixing of pipelines. Though KUDCEMP officials insisted that 95 per cent of the work was over, the members were not ready to accept the same. In the end, it was decided that the project works KUDCEMP will be monitored in the future by MCC engineers.

The members also discussed problems relating to water and electricity in the city, but came to no definite conclusion.

MCC commissioner Krishnappa Poojary paid homage to late MLA U T Fareed and immediately followed it with a note of condemnation of the recent assault on corporator Sonia D’Souza.
