Mangaluru: Thieves break into jewellery store, decamp with items worth Rs 7 lac

Mangaluru, May 13: Thieves broke into city's Laxmidas Jewellers here in the wee hours of Wednesday May 13 and stole gold and silver ornaments and items worth Rs 7 lac.

It was earlier said that the thieves were unsuccessful in their attempt and two were arrested. However, sources in crime branch denied the arrest and said that the thieves are yet to be caught.

Sources said that the thieves broke into the store at around 10 pm, and were there until 4 am. This was caught in the CCTV cameras in the store. 

It was earlier said that two thieves, both from north India were caught in the act and arrested by the Bunder police.

Sources said that at around 3 am, while the thieves were bringing out a silver statue out of the jewellery store, employees of a nearby pub spotted them, and raised an alarm and informed the police. The thieves then dropped the silver statue and ran away, and managed to escape, it is learnt.

The Bunder police arrived at the spot and investigated.

    In fact these two gentlemen were keeping inside the stolen silver statue of this particular Jewellery shop but our people and Law Authorities misunderstood their motive and labeled them as culprits…..this is what going to happen in our Court and they will be released with warm welcomes and garlands!!!! Now people know very well that nothing happened to people like Jaya, Sallu and Ramu….. Then, their case is nowhere to stand in any Court for sure
