Kasargod, May 7: The Interpol has issued red corner notice to find out a a city-based couple, C V Sadique (36) and Khadeejat Nausha (28), residents of Cheriyaveettil in Palakunnu Naimaramoola here.
The couple is facing charges of floating a company with the name, Global Trade Solution, collecting over Rs 300 crore in the form of deposits from various districts in the state, and then going underground in the Gulf region.
While Sadique has been named as the prime accused in the case, his wife is the second accused. Sadique was the managing director of the company, and his wife was a director. The company had appointed agents by promising high returns in different districts, and had collected huge amounts in the form of deposits, it is alleged. It is gathered that the couple disappeared without a trace in 2011.
While Chennai unit of Central Bureau of Investigation has been investigating four cases of fraud registered against the couple in the town, economic offences wing of the police crime branch has been looking into the complaints lodged in other districts. The couple faces 46 cases in Palakkad district alone.
A large number of people including women had staged protest demonstration in front of Sadique's house in the town, alleging that they had deposited large amounts of money with his company, and seeking a refund from the couple on the run. However, the agencies have failed to apprehend them so far.
