Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, May 2: Through a press release, former deputy speaker of Karnataka assembly, N Yogeesh Bhat, said that an amount of Rs 12.78 crore has since been released by Oil and Natural Gas Commission (ONGC) towards the construction of Lady Goschen Hospital building in the town.

Bhat noted that the construction of the said hospital building had come to a complete halt temporarily because of delay in release of grant. During the recent visit of union petroleum minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, to the city, Yogeesh Bhat and Dakshina Kannada MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel, had met him, and impressed upon him the need to release the grant for speeding up the construction work.

The minister, who accepted this request, arranged for release of Rs 12.78 crore towards the building through ONGC, he said. Bhat has thanked union minister, Pradhan, ONGC chairman and managing director, D K Saraf, MRPL managing director, H Kumar, and MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel, for their wholehearted efforts towards meeting long-pending demand of the citizens of the city.
