MIT-K invites applications for scholarships

Udupi, Apr 19: Moodlakatte Institute of Technology (MIT), Kundapur, has invited applications from eligible students for its new scholarship schemes starting this academic year. The scholarship schemes have been announced to commemorate MIT's decennial celebrations.

This was announced at a press meet at Kadiyali here on Saturday April 18, by Siddharth J Shetty, chairman of MIT, Kundapur. Dr Shubha P Bhat, principal, and Krishnaraja, HoD, mechanical department were present.

The various freeships and scholarships are designed to basically cater to financial requirements of students who want to pursue degrees in various engineering fields. Apart from II PUC students, these are applicable to diploma students who seek lateral entry into the engineering college. The scholarship are mainly for students from families holding BPL and APL cards.

Nearly 30 students will be given the scholarship in direct entry and lateral entry for the engineering department. Apart from this nearly 3 students will be given the scholarship for the MBA subject.

The freeships and scholarships can be applied for, along with a management-based entrance exam Modalakatte Engineering Entrance Exam (MEEE). The exams will be held at Moodlakatte and Hubballi simultaneously. The different offerings are:

Freeships: 100% scholarship (The cost of fees for all the years of engineering will be borne by the management).

Scholarships: 25-50% scholarships will be provided to students on the basis of merit and economic background.

The Moodlakatte Institute of Technology was founded by Moodlakatte Nagarathna Bhujanga Shetty Trust. It was established in the year 2004 and headed by the late I M Jayaram Shetty who was the founder chairman of the Trust. He was a well-known philanthropist, former member of Legislative Assembly and former member of Parliament. His aim was to make MITK as a model engineering institution with a disciplined student community. Today, his entire legacy is carried forward by Siddhartha Shetty who is the chairman-in-charge of the organisation now.

MITK boasts of serene and verdant green campus with modern ergonomics highlighting its spacious and ventilated classrooms. A complete residential campus, it also provides all its students a well-stocked library of journals, periodicals, magazines and e-library. The entire campus is wifi enabled thus making students accessible to the plethora of information available. May 10, 2015 (Sunday) at MIT Kundapur and Sukruthi College Hubballi (for II PUC students)
May 17, 2015(Sunday) at MIT Kundapur and Sukruthi College Hubballi (for diploma students)


Last date for registration:

The last date for registration for II PUC students is May 8, 2015 (till 5 pm)
The last date for registration for diploma students is May 15, 2015 (till 5 pm)

There is no fee for Modalakatte Engineering Entrance Exam (MEEE).
