Udupi, Apr 13: The body of a person named Madhava Tingalaya (60) was found on Sunday April 12 morning from the fish drying yard of fisheries department near Malpe fishing port near here.

It is suspected that he was murdered and abandoned here on Saturday night.

Tingalaya used to live in a nearby house since the last some months with another man named Shekharappa. Some locals said they had seen both of them walking together towards their residence on Saturday night. Noticeably, Shekharappa went missing since Sunday morning. On the basis of this, it is widely believed that Shekharappa fled after murdering his roommate.

The police are now on the lookout for Shekharappa.

Madhava's head bears a deep gash, and a hammer was found lying by the side of his body. The

poilcemen have registered a case, suspecting that the two would have fought on Saturday night on

some issue, ending with Shekharappa hitting his friend's head with hammer.
