Bengaluru, Apr 8: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah called on Governor VajubhaiRudabhaiVala and explained to him the necessity ofpromulgating an ordinance for holding the elections to the Bruhat Bengaluru MahanagaraPalike (BBMP) after trifurcation of the civic body.
The chief minister, who called on the Governor at Raj Bhavan, spent about half an hour.
According to informed sources, Siddaramaiah briefed Vala that the Government had taken the decision to trifurcate the BBMP to ensure efficient administration and quality of services to the public.
