Sunni co-ordination commitee gives guidlines for survey

Mangaluru, Apr 8: Karnataka Muslim Jama'ath Council has urged its community people to register as 'Sunni Muslims' in sub caste/caste in the state government's social and educational survey of 2015.




S P Hamza Sakafi, chief secretary of Sunni Co-ordination committee addressing the press meet on Wednesday April 8 at press club said "There is no caste system in Islam as there is no classification of caste, race, division. But the for the survey purpose state government has made the classification on the basis of one's faith, language and area. This survey classifies the faith as Sunni Muslim, Shiya Muslim and Salafi Muslim under the Caste/Sub caste section. Hence as the people from the Sunni Community are majority in number, necessarily people of this community should register as 'Sunni Muslims' under caste/sub caste section. And in the mother tongue coloum those speak Beary language can register their language as Beary and those who do nott speak Beary Language can register relevant language."

Hamza also said that the organization will appoint volunteers to render help in the survey.

On this occassion Abbusufian,B M Mumthaz Ali and Abdul Hameed Bajpe and others were present.
