Ankara, April 7 (IANS): Two suspects were detained early on Tuesday over the gun attack on Turkish football club Fenerbahce's team bus.
Trabzon governor Abdil Celil said the suspects were apprehended in the district of Trabzon. One of them tailed after the team bus on its way to Trabzon from Rize and the other one opened fire with an automatic rifle, reports Xinhua.
The suspect who trailed the bus allegedly filmed the attack with his phone camera and the other suspect opened fire on the team bus on April 4 in Trabzon's Arakl district, leaving serious facial injuries to the driver Ufuk Kiran.
Fenerbahce was making its way toward Trabzon's airport following a 5-1 Super League victory against Caykur Rizespor.
The head of Turkish Football Federation announced late on Monday that all the clubs agreed to suspend first-tier Super League games, along with the Turkey Cup matches, for one week following the gun attack.
