Mangaluru: Young man who consumed poison breathes last

Mangaluru, Apr 5: A young man who had consumed poison with his girl friend on April 3 has breathed his last.

Ramesh (24) from Chitradurga is the person deceased.

Ramesh from Chitradurga and Anusha (22) from Chikkaballapur who had come to Dharmasthala on Friday had consumed poison in a bid to commit suicide. Anusha had died on the way to hospital but Ramesh was admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru in a serious condition.

The incident had taken place at a hillock in Pudkettichadavu near Neerachilume, Dharmasthala.

On Friday Guruappa Gowda, a local had found th couple at the hillock convulsing. He immediately called the ambulance to rush the couple to the hospital.

Anusha had breathed her last on the way to hospital. Ramesh was shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru in a critical condition.

Ramesh was employed in a company at Hosakote. It is said that Anusha and Ramesh were in love and their families had objected to their marriage. Hence, the couple came to Dharmasthala, and after walking along the road leading towards Ujire, they climbed a hillock and consumed poison.

Ramesh breathed his last in Mangaluru hospital on Saturday.
