Bengaluru, Mar 28: Archbishop of Bengaluru Most Rev Dr Bernard Moras has asked the priests and religious as well as lay faithful to work hand in hand in carrying out the pastoral work in the Archdiocese and the Church in general by involving themselves more spiritually, intellectually and with an evangelical spirit to become true witnesses to the message of love and peace taught and practiced by Jesus Christ.
He was addressing the special pastoral consultation meeting of the Archdiocese held at the Archdiocesan Paalana Bhavan on March 26 on the theme of ``Year of Consecrated life and family.’’
About 120 Archdiocesan and religious priests participated in the meeting, which was followed by a Chrism mass at the St Francis Xavier Cathedral with Archbishop Moras as the main celebrant.
Msgr S Jayanathan, Vicar General introduced theme and the program of the day. Very Rev Fr Xavier Manvath, cmf, the Episcopal vicar of the Archdiocese moderated the session. Rev Fr Praveen Pinto spoke on ‘the relevance and renewal of consecrated life for effective pastoral ministries with special reference to families.’ Another session was moderated by Rev Fr Joseph Abraham, Director of Paalana Bhavan. Msgr C Francis, Vicar General, Frs Anil Martin and Christy were the other speakers.
