MLA unveils plan to organize beef fests to counter RSS food agenda

Kasargod, Mar 26: MLA and Kerala state unit president of Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), T V Rajesh, said that beef fests are planned to be organized on a large scale to effectively defeat the efforts of the central government to impose food agenda of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on the masses, which he alleged, is tantamount to snatching away freedom of people on choosing their food.

Speaking to media persons at Press Club here on Wednesday March 25, he alleged that BJP is planning to split the country on communal lines. He accused the union government of trying to implement RSS agenda by imposing restrictions on food consumption. He said beef fests will be organized to browbeat these tactics, and initially, campaign against anti-communal forces will be launched, and a mega scale beef fest will be held at Kottyam next month.

'DYFI will be organizing Martyrs' Day at Kannur in memory of those who lost their lives to communal forces. Agitation seeking resignation of minister, K M Mani, who is facing charges of corruption, will be intensified further,' he stated. He warned that the minister will not be allowed to participate in any public programmes.

He informed that on April 9, a jatha from Pala, Mani's constituency, to Pudupalli, which happens to be the constituency of chief minister, Oommen Chandy, will be led.
