Udupi, Mar 25: The district Bharatiya Janatha party president Thingale Vikramarjuna Hegde organized a press meet at town BJP office Kadiyali, Udupi here on Tuesday. March 24.
"Udupi district authority, the state government and animal welfare board have taken decision in a hurry on animal sacrifice at Kaup Marigudi. DC should respect the rituals and public feelings about them. If suddenly district administration enforces such an order, it causes unwanted confusion." Thingale said.
He also revealed that Suresh Shetty has submitted an appeal to high court on Tuesday on the Kaup Marigudi issue on 12. 30 p m.
Regarding on the installation of toll gate he said "By the end of May 15, 80% of the road constructions of of Hejamady to Kundapur Navayuga project will be complete. The pipe line from Padur to Thokur which was supposed to be complete by March 2013, will be complete soon. District BJP will allow to installation of toll gate only after the completion of road construction work."
Speaking on the crude oil storage unit at Padur he said " It goes through seven villages namely Padur, Kalattur, Belapu, Yellur, Santur and Inna. It comprises 16 acres of government land out of the 98.50 acres of land. The remaining land is private."
Thingale condemned the way the land acquisition of KIDP was done and said "It was very unscientific approach, the surveyors visited the private properties without intimation. So farmers are living in confused state. The total project needs 484 feet of land and nearly 60-70 meter will remain as useless in both sides. According to the land acquisition act of 1961, government will provide 10% of compensation for 60 feet land. So it would damage the poor farmer’s life."
In the end Thingale Vikramarjuna Hegde urged to clarify the confusions of villagers by collecting public opinion.
